<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid ejection device that can clean early after wiping out a wiping out part of a wiping means used in wiping out, and can effectively suppress decrease in the cleaning capability of the wiping means. <P>SOLUTION: A wiper 37 is rotatably supported by a tank 51, and a part of a lower part is immersed in a washing liquid L in the tank 51. A carriage 14 does forward movement, and a nozzle formation surface 19a of a recording head 19 is wiped out by an absorber 62 and a wiper blade 61 (shown in Fig (c)). After the end of wiping out, an electric motor 55 is driven and the tank 51 rises a little. The carriage 14 does a return movement after the wiper 37 is arranged at a power transmission position (shown in Fig.(a)). The wiper 37 does about 1/3 rotations by engaging of a pinion 73 and a rack 46 in this return process and while a wiping out part 60 used for wiping out is immersed in the washing liquid L, the wiping out part 60 immersed in the washing liquid L till then is arranged in the position to become a wiping out posture (upper end position). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
