EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION SYSTEM AND EXHAUST GAS PURIFICATION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas purification system and an exhaust gas purification method capable of improving exhaust gas purification performance.

SOLUTION: The exhaust gas purification system 1 includes: an exhaust gas purifying catalyst 2 having a conduction starting temperature; a voltage application device 4 for applying voltage to the exhaust gas purifying catalyst 2; and a control unit 6 for actuating the voltage application device 4 in a temperature range of conduction starting temperature +500°C from the conduction starting temperature. The voltage application device 4 applies voltage to the exhaust gas purifying catalyst 2 having the conduction starting temperature in the temperature range of conduction starting temperature +500°C from the conduction starting temperature.
