IMAGE READER AND MULTI FUNCTION PERIPHERAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader and a multi function peripheral capable of improving the assemblability.

SOLUTION: An image scanner comprises: a scanner section 14 for reading an image; and an operation panel 16 mounted to the scanner section 14. The scanner section 14 comprises: a scanner upper portion 30; a scanner lower portion 32 mounted to the scanner upper portion 30; and a glass plate 31 held by the scanner upper portion 30 and the scanner lower portion 32. Further, a mounting direction of the scanner lower portion 32 with respect to the scanner upper portion 30 is the same as a mounting direction of the operation panel 16 with respect to the scanner lower portion 32.
