PURPOSE: A user input system and a method of a virtual display device are provided to easily receive an input signal by receiving an input signal through cut-off of light received in the understood part after recognizing a location of an input target part through a virtual display device. CONSTITUTION: An optical reception unit(130) is faced with an optical output unit(110) and receives light outputted from the optical output unit. A virtual input unit(120) is formed on one plane of the optical reception unit and receives the light of the optical output unit. The virtual input unit receives an input signal by cut-off of a part of the outputted light. A display unit(140) outputs a part corresponding to the input signal, receives whether the light is received from the optical reception unit and outputs the inputted input signal to the outside.
