<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid for lithium ion battery separator use which is highly stable in manufacturing a lithium ion battery separator with a large heat resistance, and to provide a lithium ion battery separator which makes the charge and discharge characteristics less prone to suffer through the iteration of charge and discharge. <P>SOLUTION: The coating liquid for lithium ion battery separator use comprises: an alumina hydrate; a binder polymer aqueous fluid dispersion; a water-soluble dispersant; and a thickener. The water-soluble dispersant is a carboxymethylcellulose, and its 1-mass% aqueous solution has a viscosity between 100 mPa sec and 500 mPa sec inclusive at 25°C. The thickener is CMC salt, and its 1-mass% aqueous solution has a viscosity between 3000 mPa sec and 10000 mPa sec inclusive at 25°C. The lithium ion battery separator is formed by coating a nonwoven fabric with the coating liquid, and drying the resultant fabric. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
