<p>The invention is concerned with a venturi throttle valve for an internal combustion engine, in which an air flow path having a centrally positioned core (12) is defined by a tube (36) having a resiliently flexible wall which separates the flow path from an adjacent control working chamber (38), so that changes in the pressure within the chamber (38) cause deformation of the flexible wall resulting in changes in the tube cross-section between a wide open throttle position and a valve closed position. In accordance with the invention, in such a venturi throttle valve the flexible walled tube (36) is uniformly cylindrical in its relaxed state. It is preferred for the central core (12) to include means (50) for introducing fuel into the air stream flowing in the annular gap between the core (12) and the surrounding flexible tube (36).</p> |
