<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection type video display device capable of achieving a high luminance of a video. <P>SOLUTION: A projection type video display device 100 includes an adjustment unit 230 and a light source control unit 250. The adjustment unit 230 adjusts the number of subframes constituting one frame.
