PURPOSE: A high-strength high-ductility hypereutectoid steel wire and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to improve the tensile strength of a hypereutectoid steel wire by accelerating cementite after drawing. CONSTITUTION: A high-strength high-ductility hypereutectoid steel wire comprises C of 0.88-1.02 weight%, Mn of 0.3-0.8 weight%, Si of 0.4-1.0 weight%, Cr of 0.3-0.8 weight%, V of 0.05-0.18 weight%, and Fe and inevitable impurities of the remaining amount. The carbon content of cementite in pearlite is 20 atom%. The steel wire has a tensile strength of 2300-2400MPa and a reduction-of-area of 50% or greater. |
