The drive train (1) has a differential element (23) e.g. open or torque-vectoring differential element, provided at a rear axle (2), and another differential element (26), provided at a front axle (3). Electric machines (11, 32) drive the axles of a motor vehicle. The machines are arranged transverse to a travel direction (4) of the vehicle and are coupled by a spur gear (12) to the rear axle. The axles are provided with ring gears (25) that are coupled via a shaft (27). The shaft is provided with pinions (28) at respective ends, where the pinions are engaged with the respective ring gears.
