<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device with which an environmental map of a whole area can be created by combining information from each robot. <P>SOLUTION: Relative positions between respective robots that autonomously travel in a search area for which a map is to be created are detected (204), the search area is divided into search sections for the respective robots according to the detected relative positions (206), local information on each of the search sections that is used to create a map is obtained from each of the robots (208). Subsequently, the information is combined and an environmental map of the whole area is created (210). For this reason, an excessive amount of search time can be effectively reduced by reducing a search area for creating a map in an informal environment, and time for combining local information obtained from respective robots can be reduced through selective matching (202). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
