A system or method for producing gasoline or dimethyl ether by way of methanol from natural gas, in which natural gas is steam-reformed to generate reformed gas, methanol is synthesized from the reformed gas, and gasoline or dimethyl ether is synthesized from the methanol, wherein at least one process is selected from among pre-reforming prior to steam reforming the natural gas, recovering carbon dioxide from the effluent gas of steam reformation, and using synthesis heat from gasoline or dimethyl ether synthesis to pre-heat the combustion air supplied to steam reformation. The energy of the system as a whole is self balanced using heat recovery from the effluent gas generated by steam reformation, heat recovery from the reformed gas, synthesis heat in methanol synthesis, and synthesis heat in gasoline or dimethyl ether synthesis, as well as the recovered heat of the selected pre-reformation, recovery of carbon dioxide, or air pre-heating. |
