The heat exchanger has a water tank (2) and a meandering-shaped tube (1) for passing a refrigerant, where the meandering-shaped tube has multiple meandering arrangements. A clamping unit is provided for connecting two opposite meandering arrangements of the tube, where the tank has a longitudinal weld seam (4). The meandering arrangements are provided so that the longitudinal weld seam is provided between two opposite meandering arrangements. The tube is partially embossed so that one end of the tube is substantially planar. An independent claim is included for a method for manufacturing a heat exchanger, particularly for liquefication of refrigerant.
