The device has a heat transfer medium container (1), where a heat transfer medium e.g. thermal oil, salt melt and gel, flows through the container. Working medium lines (2) are connected in parallel to each other, and extended through the container. Working medium i.e. water, flows through the working medium lines so that heat from the heat transfer medium is transferred to the working medium, and the working medium changes over into a gaseous state. Shut-off devices (5) are associated to the working medium lines for opening and closing the working medium lines. An independent claim is also included for a power plant.
