<p>A spine fixation system for fixing two vertebrae comprises a rod (12) and a plurality of fasteners (14) that are configured to be secured to the vertebrae (V1, V2, V3). The system further comprises a plurality of connectors (18) that are attached to the fasteners (14), a seat member (20) configured to be connected to the rod (12), and a first flat abutment face. The system further comprises a drill that is configured to produce a bore in the vertebrae and a material abrading tool which is configured to produce a second flat abutment face on the vertebrae such that the second abutment face at least substantially surrounds the bore and abuts seamlessly on the first abutment face if the fastener and the connector are attached to the respective vertebra.</p> |
