PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous coolant for DI forming of a laminate metal sheet enabling the DI forming of the laminate metal sheet and capable of affording a laminate DI can having excellent durability and food safety. SOLUTION: The aqueous coolant comprises 0.03-1 mass% in total of one or more kinds selected from among amino acids and polypeptides having pH6.5-12 at 50°C when dissolved in an aqueous solution so as to provide total 0.03-1 mass% thereof and has pH6-8 at 50°C. For example, one or more kinds selected from histidine, arginine, lysine, oxylysine and theanine can be contained in the amino acids. For example, polypeptides containing≥40 mass% of the one or more kinds of amino acids selected from the histidine, the arginine, the lysine and the oxylysine can be used as the polypeptides.
