<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recovering polishing abrasive grains from a filter including polishing abrasive grains, and to provide a method for regenerating a polishing solution, and a method for manufacturing a glass substrate for a magnetic recording medium. <P>SOLUTION: The method includes a separation step for separating polishing abrasive grains adhered to a filter from the filter using liquid.
