PURPOSE: A water softener comprising a filter assembly with multiple functions is provided to react a functional filter with several functional materials by flowing softened water into a filter assembly. CONSTITUTION: A water softener comprising a filter assembly with multiple functions comprises a softened water tank, a recycling tank, the first water passing path changing valve, the second water passing path changing valve and a filter assembly(60). The softened water tank comprises an ion resin. The recycling tank is arranged on the upper part of the softened water tank. The first water passing path changing valve supplies original water to the softened water or the recycling tank. The second water passing path changing valve is connected to the softened water or the recycling tank and is capable of supplying recycled water and flowing recycled water out. The filter assembly is connected to an outlet part of the softened water tank and filled with several functional materials. The filter assembly comprises a filter housing(61), several unit filters(63), a sealing member(64) or an opening device(65). The sealing member is connected to an opening part of the unit filter in a detachable way. The opening device operates some part of the sealing member or the all the part of the same.
