A hair dryer with a noise reducing mechanism has an air guiding tube 4 received in the air inlet 13 of the hair dryer housing 1. The air guiding tube 4 includes an air guiding hole 41. A sound absorber 5 is fixed to an inner periphery of the air guiding hole 41. The sound absorber 5 is annular and includes a central hole 51 extending along a longitudinal axis of the air guiding hole 41. The sound absorber 5 is preferably made from sponge or foam material, and glued to the air guiding tube 4. A lip 44 may be provided on the tube 4, and the sound absorber 5 may have an end abutting the lip44. The air guiding tube may be engaged with the housing 1 or with a gridded cover 14 mounted to the air inlet 13. An end of the air guiding tube 4 may extend beyond the housing 1 (see fig. 10). |
