<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a powder for continuous casting which attains a high-speed casting while preventing the powder entrainment in a material which is requied to meet strict requirements for inclusions by offering both the prevention of the powder entrainment and lubricating quality. <P>SOLUTION: The powder for continuous casting is characterized in that, in an oxide base powder added to the surface of a molten steel in a mold when a steel is subjected to continuous casting, CaO and SiO2 are used as main components, the solidification temperature is ≤1200°C, and also, the activation energy E(kJ/mol/K) and viscosity η(Pa s) at 1300°C satisfy formula (1): -0.5108-0.00000519×E<ln(η)<-2.303+0.00000862×E...(1), where, E>85 kJ/mol/K. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
