The system has a latent heat accumulator (50) that accumulates heat energy obtained by a solar collector (20) through a heat transfer line (30). The latent heat accumulator is connected with a plate heat exchanger (60) that is provided within a water storage reservoir (70). The plate heat exchanger is operated as condenser during desorbent mode, so as to cool water in water storage reservoir. The plate heat exchanger is operated as evaporator during adsorbent mode so as to heat water in water storage reservoir. An independent claim is included for method for operating system for generating and/or storing of hot or cold water.
