<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED backlight device that keeps direct currents flowing through a plurality of LED strings constant. <P>SOLUTION: The LED backlight device includes: a converter having an input stage connected to a power supply to boost a supply voltage; the plurality of LED strings each connected to an output stage of the converter and each having a plurality of LEDs connected in series; a plurality of current smoothing circuits connected to the output stage of the converter and connected in parallel with the plurality of LED strings, respectively; a plurality of backflow prevention circuits connected to respective output stages of the plurality of current smoothing circuits and the plurality of LED strings; and a plurality of transformers having end portions on one side of a plurality of primary coils and a plurality of secondary coils connected in series with respective output stages of the plurality of backflow prevention circuits, and end portions on the other side of the plurality of primary coils and the plurality of secondary coils connected to a common ground section. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
