METHOD AND DEVICE FOR MINIMIZING REDUNDANT, ENHANCED UPLINK ALLOCATION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize redundant EU (enhanced uplink) allocation to be generated between a WTRU (wireless transmission and reception unit) 102 and a node B104 to resist an obstacle of a failure in EU transmission.

SOLUTION: A WTRU 102 transmits an allocation request via a UL EU channel 110. In one embodiment, when E-DCH allocation is not provided within a predetermined time period, a node B transmits a confirmation message to the WTRU via a DL EU signaling channel 112 without transmitting E-DCH allocation information. The request is put in a queue in the node B, and the WTRU stops transmission of the same request until after the time period expires or until a resource becomes usable.
