<p>The present invention relates to the development and execution of a method for facilitating the production of substances, in particular polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), in Pseudomonas putida from glycerol. For said purpose, a mutant strain derived from P. putida has been constructed which comprises a mutation in the chromosome of the glpR gene that enables the bacteria to use glycerol as a source of carbon and energy in a more efficient manner, and thus makes it possible to improve the production of biomass and substances from glycerol, such as, for example, improving the production of PHA granules by halving the production time thereof.</p> |
