<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED light source which improves heat conductivity and a method for manufacturing the LED light source. <P>SOLUTION: A light source includes: a substrate 31, multiple dies, and a translucent layer of a capsule material. The substrate includes an insulation layer, which has an upper surface having patterned layers 32, 33 of a first metal and a lower surface having a patterned layer of a second metal. The patterned layers of the first metal include multiple die attachment regions and the patterned layer of the second metal includes a first contact layer located below the die attachment regions. The die attachment regions and the first contact layer are connected by vias 38 metallic-coated at the respective die attachment regions.
