The present invention provides a power consumption estimation device that is capable of estimating power consumption per appliance without installing any high-cost per-appliance power measurement device and without requiring power consumption characteristic information and the like for each appliance. Changes in the appliance operating sounds of appliances installed at multiple locations inside a house are detected by appliance operating sound monitoring means (120) and recorded in an appliance operation change database (330) of an analyzing device (300) as needed. Changes in the total amount of used power obtained from a switchboard meter (210) by a total power consumption measuring/recording means (220) are recorded in a total power consumption database (240), and the correlations between both of the aforementioned types of changes are analyzed by a correlation analyzing means (340) in order to estimate the power consumption per appliance. In addition, when presenting a list of the estimated power consumption per appliance to a user, the power consumption estimation device refers to an installation location database (350) in which the installation locations of the appliance operating sound monitoring means (120) that detected the changes in the appliance operating sounds are registered, and presents the power consumption per appliance as well as the installation locations to the user.
