The method of making a wet spinning substrate with high sound absorption involves the following steps: dispersing extruded fibres in an aqueous suspension with suspension consistency of up to 3.5 wt %; mixing said aqueous suspension until a homogeneous aqueous mixture is obtained; distributing said homogeneous aqueous mixture on a screen conveyor; dehydrating the homogeneous aqueous suspension to obtain a wet mat; drying the wet mat to obtain a sound-absorbing substrate. A fibre-based sound-absorbing intermediate product contains a composition which contains extruded fibres and water, the composition being characterised by dispersion consistency of up to 3.5 wt %. The fibre-based sound-absorbing substrate contains a mixture of extruded fibres and spun fibres, wherein the ratio of the number of extruded fibres to the number of spun fibres is about 0.13:1; and binder in which there are no formaldehyde-releasing reactive resins; the substrate is characterised by NRC of at least 0.80.EFFECT: improved sound absorption.20 cl, 3 tbl, 10 dwg
