<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel wire for spring-type filters, which, when worked to form protrusions on its surface by pressing a grooved roll against the surface, can be stably worked to form protrusions of uniform heights while reducing the formation of debris from roll wear and chippings from rolling. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a steel wire used for spring-type filters being filter elements formed by helically winding a steel wire, wherein the cross section of the steel wire has a drum-like shape having the long diameter L and the short diameter W, having protrusions on one side of the long diameter L sides, such protrusions being formed at equal pitches P along the length direction of the steel wire, having a first flat part on the top of each protrusion, and having a second flat part continuous over the entire length of the steel wire on two sides of the short diameter W. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
