<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a membrane type silencing mechanism and a vehicle intake duct, capable of reducing time and labor and cost for installation compared to the prior arts. <P>SOLUTION: A membrane type silencing mechanism 20 is configured in such a manner that a pair of wave-transmitting and receiving membranes 21A, 21B is formed by stretching a membrane member 15 on a pair of duct through-holes 13, 13 formed in an intake duct 10 and that the centers of the pair of wave-transmitting and receiving membranes 21A, 21B are connected with a see-saw member 22. In this configuration, when one wave-transmitting and receiving membrane 21A receives sound waves of noise and vibrates in a predetermined cycle, the other wave-transmitting and receiving membrane 21B is driven to vibrate in a cycle shifted by a half of the original cycle. Thereby, the other wave-transmitting and receiving membrane 21B transmits canceling waves in a reverse phase with respect to the sound waves of noise received by the one wave-transmitting and receiving membrane 21A, which can reduce the noise. Since the mechanism includes no electric circuit for generating canceling waves, conventional dust-proofing, water-proofing and wiring processes are unnecessary and the mechanism can be installed at a low cost. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
