<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use more appropriate marginal electric energy when charging a battery with electric energy in the sum of electric energy, required to run a travelling route specific to a user, and its marginal electric energy. <P>SOLUTION: When charging a high-voltage battery, using a charger by power from an external power supply, it changes (S110) the marginal electric energy Qm, according to the number of times of the up operation and down operation of a margin switch by a user, computes (S130) the target charge electric energy Qtg as the sum of the required electric energy Qrt to be charged by being consumed when the user runs a predetermined travelling route and the marginal electric energy Qm, and charges (S140-S170) it until the charged electric energy Qchg of the high-voltage battery reaches its target charge electric energy Qtg. The user can set a desired marginal electric energy Qm.
