<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of failure due to live connection in a state where an option unit is not perfectly connected to an apparatus body. <P>SOLUTION: An apparatus body 100 includes a connector side contact point 172 connected to a first electric connector 121 and a power supply side contact point 171 connected to a power supply unit 123. The first electric connector 121 is constituted to be movable in a direction approaching or separating from a second electric connector 321, and a movement energizing force is expressed in a direction approaching the second electric connector 321. The connector side contact point 172 and the power supply side contact point 171 are constituted to be electrically connected by contact with each other, in a state where the second electric connector 321 is inserted into the first electric connector 121 to press the first electric connector 121 against the movement energizing force and an option unit 300 is connected to the apparatus body 100.
