<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To comfortably perform walking in a walking mode, with a roller skate capable of switching between the walking mode and a skating mode. <P>SOLUTION: The roller skate includes: a frictional contact member 13 formed so as to be projected downwards from a base material part 12 along a length direction of a shoe at a position on the outer side in a shoe sole; a plurality of inclined rollers 16 provided along the length direction of the shoe at a position on the inner side in the shoe sole; and a space part 22 formed upwards between the frictional contact member 13 and the inclined rollers. In the walking mode, the frictional contact member 13 and the inner side edges 21 of the inclined rollers 16 are brought into contact with a walking surface 14. In the skating mode, since the base material part 12 is brought down to the outer side, treads 27 of the inclined rollers 16 are brought into contact with a traveling surface and the frictional contact member 13 is not brought into contact with the traveling surface.
