PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel delivery pipe fastening structure of an internal combustion engine that can relieve a strain caused by the difference in the thermal expansion between a fuel delivery pipe and a cylinder head without degrading the strength of the delivery pipe.
SOLUTION: Ribs 8b and 16b to reinforce pipe side bosses 8 and 16 are structured thin to lower the rigidity of the fastening part at each end of the fuel delivery pipe 2. The stress due to the difference in thermal expansion between the cylinder head 4 and delivery pipe 2 is likely concentrated at each end of the delivery pipe 2, where the amount of deformation of the fastening part due to stress can be made greater than that of the central part. This enables relieving the strain originating from the difference in the thermal expansion between the fuel delivery pipe 2 and the cylinder head 4 without degrading the strength of the delivery pipe 2. Therefore the sealing performance between a fuel injection valve 6 and the delivery pipe 2 can be well maintained, where there is no risk that the whole delivery pipe 2 warps. The durability can also be maintained owing to no stress being concentrated in the fastening parts between the cylinder head 4 and the delivery pipe 2.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
