The present disclosure realtes to co-culture compositions containing a population of lignocellulolytic cells containing a mutation in one or more beta-glucosidase genes, and a population of fermentative microorganisms; and to methods for using such co-culture compositions for producing commodity chemicals, such as biofuels, from lignocellulosic biomass.
