<p>Disclosed is a pilot frequency and inter-system measurement method, including: saving a pilot frequency and inter-system measurement policy; using the cell radius and the speed state thereof to select a measurement period from the pilot frequency and inter-system measurement policy and performing pilot frequency and inter-system measurement according to the selected measurement period. Also at the same time disclosed is a mobile terminal. By way of the present invention, the measurement period can be selected flexibly, reducing the consumed electricity quantity and thus improving the standby time of the mobile terminal.</p>
