A chuck jaw assembly &c. comprises a slotted base 19, a member 15 extending through the slot and having rails 47, 48 extending into grooves in the base, the rails and grooves having adjacent surfaces converging in a direction toward the centre of the slot and away from the outer end of the slot. The chunk is as described in Specification 930,177 with the exception of, firstly, the guiding surfaces 106, 108, 107, 109 of the chuck jaw-carrying member 15 which tend to pull the sides 27, 28 of the base 19 together when the jaw is clamped; and, secondly, of the spring-pressed pin 64 which locates the adjusting worm 46. |
