<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device capable of suppressing luminance deterioration caused by temperature increase. <P>SOLUTION: A light source device 26 radiates light on a document of an image reader. An LED 40 radiates the light. A light guide 42 comprises an end face S which the light radiated by the LED 40 enters, and the light guide 42 radiates toward the document the light having entered the light guide 42 via the end face S.
