<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner that stably obtains light source power, maintains high-quality image output while improving layout property, and to provide an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: The optical scanner includes: a light source 1; deflection means 7 for deflecting a light flux from the light source 1; imaging optical systems 5a, 5b for imaging the light flux from the light source in the vicinity of a deflection/reflection surface of the deflection means as a long linear image in a main-scanning direction; and a scanning optical system 8 for scanning the light flux deflected by the deflection means in the main-scanning direction. On an optical path from the light source to the deflection means, light flux split means 4 is arranged for splitting the light flux from the light source.
