<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To monitor the flight of an airplane by utilizing a reflection signal of a signal transmitted from the airplane. <P>SOLUTION: The positioning system comprises a plurality of range finders and a positioning device. Transmission means of each range finder transmits a signal. Correlation processing means of each range finder receives a reflection signal which is obtained by reflecting the signal transmitted from the transmission means by an airplane, and determines a correlation between a transmission time of the signal from the transmission means and a reception time of the reflection signal obtained by reflecting the signal. Input means of the positioning device inputs correlation results from the plurality of range finders. Positioning means of the positioning device positions the airplane by utilizing distances between the ranger finders and the air plane determined from the correlation results inputted by the input means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
