The present invention refers to a novel composition and process for manufacturing silage from food organic wastes by a silage process consisting in: a) selecting the organic matter; b) milling or chopping the materials; c) adding an activating mixture; d) adding, in an non limitative manner, one or more sources or carbohydrates and/or lipids and/or proteins and/or enzymes; e) homogenising materials; f) packing the final product and g) storing the same. The silage obtained by this novel process maintains the quality and nutritional properties, also improving the digestibility if it is stored under the conditions described in the present invention, and may be preserved for up to twelve months maintaining its characteristics and harmlessness. The application of the inventive silage is in the diet of bovines, pigs, sheep, goat, horses and poultry, fish, pet or animals in captivity, this being a product obtained by an affordable, easy and sustainable process.
