发明名称 Improvements in regenerative heat exchangers
摘要 635,851. Regenerators. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT), Ltd., and HAHNEMANN, H. W. Aug. 29, 1947, No. 23934. [Class 64(i)] A regenerative heat-exchanger comprises two axially separated, coaxial, disclike matrix members 1, 2 which rotate in opposite directions, each disc having a plurality of axially directed passages 1a, 2a extending therethrough, the space between the discs being divided into two chambers 6, 7 by a fluid tight partition 5 provided with at least one axially directed passage 5a, the arrangement being such that as the discs rotate, a passage, e.g., 1a in one disc enters temporarily into communication with a passage, e.g., 2a in the other disc as the said passages move past the partition 5. The passage or passages 5a may each be divided longitudinally into two non-communicating parts (see Fig. 2, not shown). The discs rotate against the ends of cylindrical ducts 8, 9 which are each divided by fluid tight partitions 10, 11 into semi-circular ducts 8a, 8b, 9a, 9b. Hot low pressure fluid (e.g., the exhaust gas of a gas turbine engine) flows along the ducts 8a, 9a, through those passages 1a, 2a in the discs, which are in alignment with said ducts and is exhausted (e.g., to atmosphere) through the duct 6a. Cold fluid at a relatively higher pressure (e.g., air delivered from the compressor of a gas turbine engine) is led through the duct 7a and passes through those passages 1a, 2a in the discs that are in communication therewith and is led away to the consumption point (e.g., the combustion chamber of a gas turbine engine). The disc-like matrix members may be made of ceramic material.
