<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time until a recording start and to adjust focus balance with high reliability. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk device for reading/writing data in an optical disk medium includes a pickup for reading/writing data in the optical disk medium by a laser beam, and a control unit for controlling the operation of the optical disk device. The control unit determines whether data is yet to be recorded in the loaded optical disk medium, reads data from a predetermined logical block address of the optical disk medium when it is determined that data is yet to be recorded in the optical disk medium, and adjusts focus balance when the data is read from the predetermined logical block address. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
