OPTICAL FIBER STRAND AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an optical fiber strand in which curability of a coating resin is favorable while retaining favorable ZSA (zero stress aging) properties.

SOLUTION: When the circumference of a quartz glass optical fiber 13 is coated with a resin composition and this resin composition is cured to form a coating layer 14, the resin composition contains a base resin and 0.5-5.0 mass% of a silane coupling agent represented by general formula (A), wherein X represents OCH3or OCOCH3; Y represents 1-3C alkylene; and Z represents 1-4C alkyl.
