PURPOSE: A method for reinforcing grades of an item and a system thereof is provided to, especially in a game system providing different success probabilities according to types of items even if reinforcement of the same item in the same grade is attempted, increase user interests in an item reinforcement system by applying various types of items in the game system and preserving rarity of advanced items. CONSTITUTION: A method for reinforcing grades of an item, according to which the item effects change, comprises the steps of: receiving a request for reinforcing grades of the item which can be used in an online game from a user terminal(S10); extracting type information about the item of which the grades a user wants to reinforce by a reinforcement system(S20); requesting a search for a reinforcement probability table which is equipped according to at least one type information of the item from a server managing the reinforcement probability table, by transmitting the extracted type information of the item to a reinforcement probability table management server(S30); attempting to reinforce the item requested to be reinforced and searched from the reinforcement probability table using the reinforcement probability table(S40).
