PURPOSE: An apparatus for predicting the number of continuous-continuous casting during continuous casting and a method thereof are provided to predict the number of continuous-continuous casting by predicting the blockage degree of a submerged entry nozzle using the location change rate of a stopper. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for predicting the number of continuous-continuous casting during continuous casting includes a lifting unit(120) and a controller(160). The lifting unit controls the discharge amount of the molten metal by lifting upwardly a stopper(21) to control the molten metal which is discharged from a tundish(20) to a mold(30). The controller collects the location information of the stopper through the lifting unit during the preset unit cycle. The controller calculates the current rate of the period opening of the stopper using the collected location information, and then calculates the rate change of the current opening using the current period opening rate and the previous rate of the period opening of the stopper. The controller predicts the number of continuous-continuous casting using the calculated rate of the current and previous opening change. [Reference numerals] (40) Mold oscillator; (50) Powder feeder
