<p>A skincare composition comprises benzoyl peroxide, at least one keratolytic agent and at least one sebum reducing agent. The benzoyl peroxide may be in a micronized form in a dispersion. Preferably the keratolytic agent is selected from lactic acid, glycolic acid, gluconic acid, lactobionic acid and salts thereof, Bakuchiol, and Vigna Aconitfolia Seed extract. The keratolytic agent may be sodium gluconate, and the oil reducing agent may be oleanolic acid. Preferably, the benzoyl peroxide is present at at least 0.5% by weight, but less than 15% by weight. The composition may be in the form of a serum, clear gel scrub, cream wash, or may be incorporated into a fibrous substrate, such as a pad or wipe. The composition may be applied to the skin of a patient for the prophylactic or remedial treatment of acne.</p> |
