PURPOSE: A battery residual quantity measurement method and an apparatus thereof are provided to exactly measure battery residual quantity without an additional measurement part. CONSTITUTION: A control unit checks whether the increasing voltage of a battery during charging reaches the full voltage(301). If the battery does not reach the full voltage, the control unit shows the battery residual quantity corresponding to the battery voltage by loading the battery residual quantity from the database(307). If the battery reaches the full voltage, the control unit calculates the elapsed time from the point of time when the battery reached the full voltage(303). The control unit shows the battery residual quantity corresponding to a rate of the threshold time to the calculated elapsed time(305).
