PURPOSE: A monitoring system capable of preventing unintended lower gear shift and reverse gear shift during driving a vehicle at a high speed is provided to reduce damage to human life due to sudden deceleration and sliding of the vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A monitoring system comprises a transmission control unit(110) and an electronic control unit(120). The transmission control unit comprises a gear box control module(112) and a monitoring module(114). The gear box control module calculates a shift value based on driving information received from the outside and controls a gear shift according to the calculated shift value. The monitoring module monitors errors of the shift value calculated by the gear box control module. The electronic control unit comprises a TCU(Transmission Control Unit) monitoring module(122), and the TCU monitoring module monitors the gear box control module.
