Method for simulating aerodynamic flow around aircraft to detect aerodynamic efforts exerted on horizontal tail unit of aircraft, involves determining local dynamic pressure around surface, and calculating total dynamic pressure

The method involves determining a value of total dynamic pressure on a predetermined surface of an aircraft. Digital simulation of aerodynamic flow around the surface is performed (300) for given environmental conditions based on a mesh formed (200) around shape of the aircraft to determine a value of total pressure around the surface. Local dynamic pressure is determined around the surface, and total dynamic pressure is calculated (700), where an approximate value of local static pressure is calculated (400) around the surface. An independent claim is also included for a method for designing a surface of aircraft.
