<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a leaf-shaped foil bearing capable of acquiring high rotation accuracy, and capable of coping with higher rotation. <P>SOLUTION: The foil bearing 10 comprises: a cylindrical outer member 11; a shaft 6 inserted into the internal periphery of the outer member 11; leaves 14 arranged in a plurality of points in the circumferential direction between an inner peripheral surface 11b of the outer member 11 and an outer peripheral surface 6a of the shaft 6. A region including the front end 14a of each leaf 14 forms a top foil Tf having a bearing face 14c, and forms a back foil Bf for supporting, from the backside, the top foil of the leaf to which a region including the rear end 14b of each leaf 14 adjoins.
