The plate 2 forming the suction valve of a compressor has one end located in a cut-out 6 formed in a gasket disposed between the cylinder 1 and an end cover, and is clamped in position between the cover and a shim 7<SP>1</SP> of gasket material of reduced thickness fitted in the cut-out 6. The stroke of the valve is limited by a nose 3 on the plate 2 engaging a cavity 4 in the end surface of the cylinder 1. |
